When we arrived off the ferry in Dunkerque we wasted 3 hours looking for new trailer tyres and didnt find any the right size so carried on the journey to the hotel.

Arriving at the Hotel F1 at about 10pm meant a tasty dinner of boil in the bag Uncle Bens, mmm yummy.

The next day we got to our new house in the late afternoon to find a smashed window in the workshop and when I turned the water on the pipes had burst so there was a bit of a flood.

Saturday 14 April 2012

The journey to France with car, trailer with 3 motorcycles and greyhound, and Ro following on her motorcycle started very badly.

On the motorway on the way to Dover a tyre blew out on the trailer. I managed to get the car onto the hard shoulder and started jacking up the trailer to change the tyre with lorries passing inches from my head.

Ro pulled up next to the car on the motorway and her imaculate SZR660 (a rare italian sportsbike) got blown over by a lorry going past at speed. fairings all scratched, mirror broken and gear lever bent.

She fixed the bent gear lever whilst I changed a wheel and we were on our way to the port.

When we arrived they checked our passports which Ro was looking after and she then realised she didnt have my passport. We managed to get through 2 lots of passport control with me using Ros passport and her using a CHinese Visa lol.

It was later found in the car.

Ridelimousin restoration blog

Welcome to the blog for the ridelimousin restoration project.

The point is to show the progress of the renovations we undertake to the house, workshop, barns and anything else relevant to the project.

We have purchased a huge french house and aim to add 3 guest rooms with ensuites, a huge loft to be converted into further accomadation with exposed beams and shower room, a large workshop, secure storage for guest motor cycles in the barn, and the owners accomadation is being overhauled.
